Dr. Christine Kownatzki is from Munich. After completing her German examination in dentistry and acquiring her medical license, she completed a three-year specialization course in orthodontics at Columbia University, New York. In Germany, Dr. Kownatzki is deemed a “true orthodontist,” i.e. she is a dental specialist in orthodontics, the highest degree of education for orthodontics. She studied state-of-the-art orthodontic methods directly with the masters in braces and aligner technology and was also trained in the conventional skills of orthodontics.
In the United States, Dr. Kownatzki was awarded the rare seal of approval of an “American board certified orthodontist”; only three dentists have the seal in Germany. She was an Assistant Professor at Columbia University and is licensed as an orthodontist in Australia; she is also the mother of two children.
